Avalara has named Mike Wingrove as VP of channels. Wingrove comes to the sales-and-use-tax company from Sage where he was VP of North American sales from July 2012 until taking the position with Seattle, Wash.-based Avalara. He reports to Pascal Van Dooren, Avalara's chief revenue officer.

Bach is currently principal and leader of the firm's management and business technology consulting team. Based in the firm's Chicago, Ill., headquarters, he has been with the firm since 2002.

Abila has released an online Association Analyzer. The tool from the Austin, Texas-based nonprofit software company is designed to provide association professionals with personal and tailored member engagement strategies and recommendations. "We know from our recent Member Engagement Study that a gap exists between what members want from their associations and what associations believe members value," Amanda Myers, Abila's director of member strategy, said in a prepared statement.

Columbus has acquired Cambridge Online Systems, an IT services company based in the United Kingdom. Columbus, a reseller and software developer based in Denmark, said the purchase is designed to help it expand in the Microsoft 365 market, along with growing its cloud and Office 365 business in that country.

Manufacturing software QAD turned in a performance for the third quarter ended October 31 that sums up the current market. Revenue from subscriptions rose sharply as license fees dropped. During the company's recent earnings webcast, CEO Karl Lopker noted license revenue fell faster than expected.

Peyton Burch, Intacct's director of channel sales, has been named chair of the Information Technology Alliance. The organization also named Baker Tilly CIO Allen Smith as vice-chair. The announcement was made during the ITA Fall Collaborative in Las Vegas. Burch has been with the cloud software company since October 2010.

Sage has put an emphasis on increasing the number of women among its executive ranks. According to CEO Steve Kelly, in the last 18 months women have risen from representing a quarter of the top 150 of the company's leaders to one third. Kelly made those statements in the company's recent webcast for its earnings for the year ended September 30.
