SWK COO MOVES TO NET@WORK

Paul Frydman, Net@WorkPaul Frdyman, COO of Livingston, N.J.-based reseller SWK Technologies, has taken the same position with rival Net@Work of New York City. Frdyman is the second high-level departure at SWK this year. CEO Jeff Roth resigned unexpectedly in February and his position was filled by Mark Meller, CEO of SWK's parent, SilverSun Technologies.

KKR BUYING EPICOR SOFTWARE

Joe Cowen, Epicor SoftwareThe Apax Partner era is coming to an end for Epicor Software as the funds advised by that firm are selling the software company to KKR. Terms were not disclosed. It had been believed for some time that Apax wanted to off load Epicor. It was assumed for some time that when Joe Cowen became Epicor's CEO in October 2013 replacing Pervez Quereshi that he was brought in to sell the company.

UNIT4 NAMES SALES EXEC

Will  Blench, Unit4Unit4 has hired Will Blench as chief sales officer. Blench also becomes a member of the executive leadership board of the Netherlands-based software company. His responsibilities include both the sales organization and the channel. He was most recently with VMware, where he was managing director of VMware's cloud management, storage and networking businesses for EMEA, Asia Pacific and Japan for the past four years.

CRESTWOOD ACQUIRES SSYH

Angela Stuart Mills, SSYHCrestwood Associates has acquired Florida-based Stanley Stuart Yoffee & Hendrix, a historical Dynamics SL reseller. Founded in 1992, SSYH is owned by CEO Angela Stuart Mills, who joins Mount Prospect, Ill.-based Crestwood as director of product development. SSYH also carries Dynamic GP, NAV and CRM and more recently Acumatica. It has offices in Maitland and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

DYNAMICS VETERAN JOINS EPICOR

Jana Reinke, Epicor Jana Reinke, who started with Great Plains Software in 1989, has joined Epicor as director of product/service management.  She took the new position in June. Reinke had an unbroken career with Great Plains and then with Microsoft after it purchased the former company in 2001. She had two long-term jobs with Microsoft, first as director of customer services product management from April 2001 through June 2007 and then as director, of sales operations from July 2007 through June 2014.

INFOR: VAR GROWTH STRONG IN 2016

Charles Phillips, InforInfor said its channel had strong growth in the year end May 31 2016. The software vendor made that statement this week in a webcast about financial results for the fiscal year CEO Charles Phillips said the channel had 14-percent revenue growth and that during the year, Infor also consolidated its regional channel operations in one global organization led by SVP Jeff Abbott. As a result, "We are attracting a lot more partners," Phillips said.

RAND NAMES ELDRIDGE CTO

Joe Eldridge, The Rand GroupThe Rand Group, a Dynamics reseller based in Houston, Texas, has named Joe Eldridge as its first chief technology officer. Rand said Eldridge will have a heavy focus on developing "a deeper level of Professional Services." The company also said that the increasing number of cloud opportunities and changes to the Microsoft channel program means Eldridge will "work closely with the development teams to deliver a noticeably improved set of competencies and a superior balance of skills."

DELTEK PUBLISHES TALENT GUIDE

Patrick Smith, DeltekDeltek has published Talent Management for Dummies, the ninth book in its For Dummies Series. The Herndon, Va.-based software company says the downloadable publication discusses concepts of an effective "people" strategy in a way intended to be easy to understand. Components of talent management covered in the book include the acquisition, development, and retention of top talent along with implementing technology to support a strong talent strategy.

SUMMIT EXHIBITS AHEAD OF 2015?

sageEvery year, I total exhibitors and sponsors for shows like Sage Summit which is being held in Chicago at the end of July. My view is the totals looks good. My combined count for the medal sponsor categories is 135. Last year, I started three weeks earlier so I will not compare those numbers. But my sense is Sage made substantial gains in numbers in the last weeks of 2015 and that it should come in well ahead of last year's total which I had at 124.
