Deltek has released Maconomy Business Performance Management, which the company calls the next evolution of Deltek Maconomy Analytix. Designed for professional services organizations, the application is used for viewing and utilizing data. The tools include Maconomy Dashboards, which provide role-based views; Maconomy Analysis, a framework that identifies potential problems; and Maconomy Reporting, which provides configured reports based on predefined industry best practices.

BLACKBAUD NAMES CFO

Blackbaud has hired Anthony W. Boor as SVP and CFO to replace Timothy V. Williams, who is retiring from the top financial job. Boor will take over the position on November 14. Before joining Blackbaud, he spent 13 years with BrightPoint, a multi-billion dollar global distributor of wireless products and a logistic services provider to the wireless industry.

SugarCRM has introduced Sugar 6.3, which the company termed a major upgrade to its Community Edition. The software provides support for deeper integration with third-party applications with the ability to integrate data from more sources. The new platform also offers an upgraded Ajax user interface Sugar 6.3 has an enhanced Import Wizard and the ability to import Google contacts. An improved quick edit feature in ListViews, subpanels and reports also enables users to do more inline editing. A new mass update control allows administrators to arrange either role-based or policy-based access.

SUB REVS LIFT BLACKBAUD

The switch from license fees to subscription revenue continued at nonprofit specialist Blackbaud during the third quarter ended September 30. That came as the company reported a 14.5-percent increase in net income on a 15-percent rise in revenue. The bottom line was $9.8 million, up from $8.5 million in net income a year earlier while revenue rose to $95.5 million for the most recently ended period, up from $83.2 million.

MAS 90 ONLINE DUE THIS MONTH

Sage North America is scheduled to release MAS 90 Online on November 22. The company’s venture into the cloud with MAS, hosted by Sage, has a base price of $169 per month. That provides access to core modules, the latest version of MAS 90, Business Care support and backup services and disaster recovery. The hosted version should open up a new user group to resellers, according to Erik Kaas, senior director of product marketing. “It lets them to go after a segment of the market they don’t go after, less than five users,” he said.

Alliance Solutions Group, based in Brandon, Fla., has been named Sage North America Business Partner of the Year for 2011. The company has a construction and real estate division that sells the Timberline and Master Builder applications. It also has a division that sells the healthcare products that Sage just sold to a private equity group.

EXACT RESULTS SLUGGISH

Exact, the parent of the Macola and Progression lines, reported flat EBIDTA on a .6 percent rise in revenue for the third quarter ended September 30. Revenue growth in the Americas and other regions was countered by a decline in sales in the Benelux countries. EBIDTA was steady at $15.7 million on revenue of $71 million. Results were reported on a like-for-like basis, essentially continuing operations. Results are converted from euros.
