The SBS Group New England has acquired Grace Hunt, a Hudson, Mass.-based Dynamics reseller. SBS Group New England is an affiliate of the Woodbridge, N.J.-based SBS Group and part of the latter’s partner network which looks a lot like Microsoft’s plan for Master VARs. Businesses that want to be named Master VARs by Microsoft must have a minimum of $1 million operating capital and at least $500,000 in gross license revenue in the previous 12 months. Those are some of the terms spelled out last week in a blog post by Jeff Edwards, director of channel strategy for Microsoft Business Solutions.

Sage has concluded that sales through its Simply Accounting Solution Providers are not enough to justify the program's continuation. It is being dropped effective October 1. However, members will continue to get the same product discounts until Sept. 30, 2012. No new VARs will be authorized.

The Partner Event 2011, a conference for Dynamics resellers, has been postponed. Sponsored by The Partner Channel, this year's conference was scheduled for September 25 through 27. But the site was in flux and was going to be in the Great Plains homeland of Fargo, N.D., or in The Partner Channel's new HQ town in Minneapolis, according to the company's website. Read more...

Pascal Houillon, CEO of Sage North America, recently cashed out some shares. According to a notice by the parent Sage Group, on September 26 Houillon sold 248,335 of the company’s ordinary shares for 248 pence each.
