CLOUD COMMERCE MERGES INTO ERP GURU

Martin McNicoll, ERP GuruCloud Commerce, based in St Louis, Mo., has merged into ERP Guru of Montreal. Both are NetSuite resellers. CloudCommerce joined the program in 2008 and handles NetSuite ERP, OneWorld and eCommerce, along with Dynamics CRM. ERP Guru has had a pure NetSuite product line, including entries in manufacturing, nonprofits, professional services and retail.

SOCIUS OPENS MICHIGAN OFFICE

Socius Logo Socius, a Dynamics, Syspro and Sage reseller, has opened its fifteenth location with an office in Southfield, Mich. The company said the move was made primarily to support its Dynamics practice. It had already been operating in Michigan with a number of clients there and with virtual team members working in the state. A member of the InterDyn group, Socius is also one of three Microsoft Master Vars. The reseller ranked No. 12 on Bob Scott's Top 100 VAR list with $19.5 million in revenue and 90 employees. The company handles all four Dynamics accounting applications and says it is one of very few VARs that has received Gold certification in all four products, Dynamics AX, GP, NAV and SL

VP SCHOUTSEN LEAVING SAGE

John Schoutsen, SageJohn Schoutsen, VP of corporate communications for Sage North America, is leaving the company this week. Schoutsen has held the position since February 2004, after coming aboard Sage with its purchase of Accpac International. But his association with the Accpac product line goes back to 1985 when he joined the then-independent company as a technical writer.

NETSUITE SPONSORS SQUASH TOURNEY

NetSuite has set the dates for the 2012 NetSuite Open Professional Squash Championships, which will be held October 20 through 23 in San Francisco. The tournament was founded last year by Evan Goldberg, NetSuite's founder and chairman, who is also an avid squash player. There is $70,000 in prize money, which should tell you something about the difference in popularity between squash and tennis, for example.

SAP OFFERS WORKERS IPHONE 5

 Michael Golz, SAPIt made a splash that SAP is offering the iPhone 5 to 65,000 employees. But that does not mean SAP is requiring them to take the device. And it was quite interesting to get the count on mobile devices from the vendor following the publicity it got about the iPhone 5 recently. The SAP employee base has 20,000 Blackberry phones, 18,000 iPads, 13,000 iPhones and about 2,000 Android smartphones and tablets, according to Michael Golz, SVP and CIO of SAP America. Read more...

INFOR IN DEAL WITH RED HAT

Infor logoInfor has entered an agreement with Red Hat under which the Infor ERP suite will be available on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Middleware, Infor10 ION and Infor LN are now certified on both platforms. Also, Infor LN and ION can now leverage MySQL and MariaDB.

KASEYA STARTS ADVISORY COUNCILS

Kaseya logoKaseya, which market products for managed service providers, has established a Customer Advisory Council and Partner Advisory Council. The Customer Advisory Council is comprised by 30 managed service customers from the Americas, Europe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific. Members range from long-time customer using the Kaseya platform to new customers using on a portion of the line. The Partner Advisory Council is launching with 10 members who will meet on a quarterly basis. The company did not provide a list of members of either body or state if officers have been selected.

DELTEK WORKING ON SOCIAL SOFTWARE

Deltek logoDeltek is working on a social enterprise software project, which is in the early stages of development. Called Kona, the project is discussed in revised documents filed with the SEC as part of the company's proposed acquisition by private equity investor, Thomas Bravo, for $1.1 billion. Originally, the information filed by Deltek said only that there was a project that the board of directors had considered spinning off, along with the sale of the company. Read more...
