Faced with difficulty in trying to identify a lost PIN for my Continental Airlines account, I decided to use the airline’s virtual expert, Ask Alex. Since I had trouble getting my real questions across to the electronic genie, I decided there was a more productive use of my time with other questions as follows:

You Asked: Why a duck?  Alex: “We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for all our customers, including pets.” You Asked: Why did the chicken cross the road?  Alex: “There is more than one your question.”  You Asked: When did you stop beating your wife?  Alex: “Well, since I work all the time, you could say I’m married to my job. “ You Asked: Would you like me to infect you with a virus? Alex: "I appreciate every customer who visits continental.com, and I look forward to answering your questions.” You Asked: What do you get if you cross an elephant with an accordion? Alex: “There are several ways to travel with your musical instruments depending on the shape and size. For information about checking and carrying on your instrument, please refer to this page.” (The correct answer is you either get an accordion on which you can really tickle the ivories or you get an elephant that plays Lady of Spain on request.)
