COLUMBUS AXES KEY STAFF IN U.S. Featured

Columbus has parted ways with three key staff members in its North American operation. The company has not responded to a query on the subject, but sources familiar with the business here say the chnages were made on October 18

Columbus continues to struggle in the U.S. Reportedly gone are Derrick Carter, who has been director of marketing for North America since October 2018; Sandy Williams, VP of the Denmark-based company’s Dynamics ERP business, who worked for Columbus since May 2014; and Jeff Petersen, SMB sales director, who joined in May this year.  Business in North America, which is largely in the U.S., has been off starting in 2017. For much of 2018 and this year, revenue losses have been double-digit with a 13.7-percent decline in North American revenue for the half ended June 30, off 20 percent in U.S. dollars. The company has been changing personnel as it looks for an answer. In February, Keld Jersild Olsen resigned as head of the U.S business, a position he had held since May 2015. He was replaced by Chris Alagna, who became CEO of Columbus U.S. in May.
