OFFICE 2010 ENTERS BETA

Office 2010 betaThe fact that Microsoft Office 2010 has hit beta ought to be of interest to us all. After what the company did with Office 2007 (especially Word), my plea is "You got it right (largely) with 2007. Don't screw it up." Personal opinions aside, there's a big emphasis on mobile use and social networking,

Office Mobile 2010 also went to beta. The most interesting feature described for plain old Office, the Outlook Social Connector, "brings communications history, business collaboration and social network feeds directly into Outlook, with support for Windows Live and SharePoint Server." If that means it could serve as a social media dashboard or messaging center, it sounds like a good idea. It would be nice to have one place to administrator all social networks I participate in. Now the thought process is, "Did I update Twitter? Have I answered the Linkedin requests? And did I read even a quarter of the posts on Facebook today?" Linkedin was announced as the first site to provide a connector for Social Connector next year.
