TATARINOV DISSES NETSUITE

Kirill TatarinovIt must be Pile On NetSuite Month. Kirill Tatarinov, head of Microsoft Business Solutions took a swing at the cloud vendor this month in answer to a question at a Cowen & Co. conference. Asked about NetSuite as a competitor, he commented, “We don't see them of the upper-mid market. In our view, they don't have offerings or the ability to serve that market from an enterprise accountability and responsibility point of view.”

Tatarinov said Microsoft has seen customers switching back after their first year with NetSuite after “getting a pretty bad taste of their kind of inability to serve true enterprise needs.” The remarks also trashed the entire cloud crew when he said that “We don't see NetSuite, or a few other similar type of vendors, as somebody who can be serving committed ERP workloads.” Of course, when you’re a company that doesn’t have true cloud offerings, there might be some incentive to bash the whole category. Tatarinov also dismissed efforts by companies that aggregate ERP products. “It's all a fight for who collects bigger maintenance checks,” he said and added that aggregators have not spent much effort making products more modern.
