Infor is acquiring Certpoint Systems, which makes SaaS-based learning management and learning content software. But can it buy happiness? The official announcement might be of less interest to the midmarket except for the title of Certpoint’s top executive and of the fact that Infor just keeps on buying other companies. Certpoint CEO Ara Ohanian is also chief happiness officer of the Roslyn, N.Y.-based company. Okay.
Terms of the deal were not announced, except maybe for an exchange of smiles and pleasant greetings. The Certpoint functionality will be added to the Infor Human Capital Management suite. Infor cited Certpoint for its ability “to deliver contextual, social and mobile learning technologies.” The company was found in 1996 by Ohanian and his father, Constantin. Certpoint's platform is CertpointVLS, which handles both learning management and learning content. It also has a number of vertically focused applications, including those for the automotive, energy and professional education industries.
