XERO DEVELOPER HEAD LEAVES

Ronan Quirke,  Xero Ronan Quirke, who managed Xero's developer program for the last 11 months, has left the company. Quirke, who was global head of the software publisher's developer platform from March 2015, joined BNZ this month as head of digital banking for business. Quirke joined the New Zealand-based cloud software company in April 2011 as an API account manager.

SWK SELLS SAGE EXTENDED APPS

Jeff Roth, SWK TechnologiesSWK Technologies has sold its Sage 100 Extended Solution to DSD Business Systems. Both DSD and SWK had updated and maintained the catalogue since its release by Sage. SWK CEO Jeff Roth explained the decision in a prepared statement, saying that while the products are valuable to customers, "the time and effort required to support these solutions and the focus that SWK has on other growth areas demanded that we seek a trusted partner to maintain and support these applications for our customers and other Sage business partners."

TRIBRIDGE INTROS WOMEN'S PROGRAM

Tony DiBenedetto, TribridgeReseller Tribridge has launched a program designed to provide greater gender equality in its operations. The Tampa, Fla.-based organization has established the Tribridge Women's Network, which it says includes "measurable commitments for recruiting, retention and development of women leaders, including programs designed to accelerate personal and professional growth."

TRAVERSE TIES TO AVIDPAY

AvidXchangeOpen Systems has formed a partnership with AvidXchange to integrate with the latter's AP payments applications. The agreement will provide the ability for Open System's Traverse users to access AvidXchange's AvidPay payment system. The companies plan to provide joint activities, such as educational webinars and conferences. Open Systems says AvidPay can be implemented with relative speed and all AvidXchange products come with a 45-day implementation guarantee. Based in Charlotte, N.C., Avid last year completed $225 million in minority growth financing led by Bain Capital Ventures.

BLACKBAUD REVS UP; NET OFF

Mike Gianoni, Blackbaud Blackbaud reported that net income dipped to $25.6 million for the year ended December 31, down 9.4 percent from $28.3 million in 2014. The nonprofit software company reported revenue of $637.9 million for the most recently ended year, an increase of 12.8 percent from $564.4 million the prior year. CEO Mike Gianoni said in a prepared statement the company was pleased with results in the fourth quarter, especially considering the fact that it was a transition year as the company began marketing its Raisers Edge NXT and Financial Edge NXT cloud products.

XERO LINKS TO POWER BI

Xero has integrated its low-cost accounting software with Microsoft Power BI. The New Zealand-based cloud software vendor says the link will provide its users with an easier way to access and analyze information from Xero and other  packages. Available next month, the link to the analytics means users can create data visualizations of the most commonly tracked 25 small business metrics, including cash position, revenue versus  expenses, profit/loss trend, debtor days and return on investment.

SAGE LIVE GOES TO IOS

Alan Laing, SageA version of Sage Live for the Apple iOS platform has been announced by Sage and Apple. And outside of the lot of nice quotes, the press release about this topic was lacking in a lot of detail. The more interesting statement is Sage Live will be sold through the Apple ecosystem. VARS are already wondering if there is any money they can make with Live. If Sage begins broadening distribution a lot, it is hard to see what future resellers might have. One of the real questions to be answered is the overall Sage product strategy.

FINANCIALFORCE DROPS .COM

Joe Fuca, FinancialForce FinancialForce.com has decided to drop the .com from its name. Headline writers should rejoice as the company opted for the simpler form. The company, owned by Salesforce and Unit4, also named Joe Fuca as president of worldwide field operations. Fuca will lead and expand the global sales organization and its services arm, Customers for Life. Fuca was most recently VP of worldwide sales for DocuSign. He also held senior executive for McAfee (now Intel Security), MarketLive, PeopleSoft and Evolve.

CURRENCY WHACKS QLIK NET

Lars Bjørk, Qlik TechnologyThe growth of the American dollar took a bite out of the bottom line for Qlik Technology for the year ended December 31. The business analytics software vendor reported a net loss of $30.5 million, an increase 48 percent from red ink of $24.6 million in 2014. Qlik's revenue for last year was $612.7 million, up 10 percent from $556.8 million the prior year. But currency changes added $6.9 million in red ink to operating losses, a 250.1-percent rise from slightly less than $2 million in currency losses in 2014.
