DYNAMICS SL 2011 HATCHES

Microsoft has rolled out the latest of its releases on the traditional Dynamics line this month with the announcement of Dynamics SL 2011, which follows Dynamics GP 2010 earlier this year. Musing over the contacts who thought the week's announcement was going to be about CRM Online, looking back I realized that SL is not the top concern of the people I was talking to. Win some, etc.

ACCOUNTMATE TAKES DIFFERENT SAAS TACK

David DierkeAccountMate has produced a SaaS system for its accounting software, but instead of providing a multi-tenanted system it is preparing platform under which each user has a single instance of the software. DELTEK BUYS INPUT

deltek logoDeltek has acquired database and market information company Input for $60 million in cash.  Deltek had nearly 200 employees and revenue of $26.2 million for 2009 which makes the purchase price more than two times trailing revenue, which isn't bad.   Deltek has been busy this year, having acquired the European project-based software company Maconomy for $72.7 million, which was not as good a multiple as Maconomy had 2009 million revenue of about $41 million.  Read more...

JMT VP MOVED TO NFOCUS

EXACT SIGNS RESELLERS

Exact logoBased on the headline, this looked promising.  But the problem is Exact, which markets the Macola, Globe and Synergy lines, is talking about the fact that it signed 27 of its current resellers to a new reselling program.  It had 30 so it's hard to be that impressed.  These companies can now carry the label "Certified Partner."  Read more...

SAP AND SAGE?

It's been a while since one of these (fill in the blank) wants to acquire Sage news items. This time, SAP is the rumored suitor. I have no idea if this rumor is any more valid than the series we've seen over the years, but there it is. Sometimes I think every time some investors think their Sage stock is a little too low, they start a rumor that someone is going to buy Sage. Read more...

David LaheyDavid Lahey, who seemed to be assuming an important position at SpeedTax, has left to pursue other interests after serving as VP of sales and marketing since early February.
