SAGE DEVELOPS PAYMENT PLATFORM

Sage logoSage Payment Solutions has signed an agreement with Ingenico, which markets credit card terminals, to develop an integrated payment offering for SMBs.  Utilizing Sage Exchange, Sage customers can use Ingenico terminals to process payments. TAMLIN FEASTS ON ACCOUNTMATE HONORS

Tamlin Software Developers, which has been a consistent award winner for the AccountMate channel, took home three awards at the company's reseller conference this month in San Francisco. The Dallas-based company under owner Linda Bryan, was cited for Exceptional Performance in SQL Installations, Maintenance Agreements and with Infotrac for AccountMate CRM.

UNIT4 RESULTS: PROXY FOR Q3?

Unit 4 logoUnit 4, which owns the Agresso and Coda Financial lines, isn't a well-known name in the United States, but it is making a push here, although not through resellers. But let's hope for the industry's sake that more familiar vendors do as well as Unit 4 ended its third quarter on September 30 with revenue of about $139 million, an increase of more than 10 percent (as calculated in euros) from last year's corresponding period. DELTEK SEEKS REFINANCING

Deltek logoWhen a company is healthy, like Deltek, and is searching for refinancing, I take that as an optimistic sign. In this case, the Reston, Va.-based software vendor proposes to refinance its credit agreement which is comprised by a $151.9 million term loan maturing in April 2011 and April 2013 and a revolving credit facility of $22.5 million that expires in April 2013.

EPICOR INTROS MOBILE SALES ASSISTANT

Epicor logoEpicor is moving along with mobile path with Epicor Mobile Sales Assistant as the latest in its mobile product line. The application provides sales and fulfillment workflow processes and integrates with Epicor's financial applications. The package runs its own SQL Server Compact database and can operate offline and standalone mode after being synchronized with Mobile Server. It synchronizes immediately with the financial packages once a connection is established.

INFOR GOES WITH DYNAMICS CRM

Infor is becoming a Microsoft shop, a Microsoft shop in the sense that it had picked Microsoft as its preferred technology and tools provider in June and has now introduced InforCRM Business, which is built on Dynamics CRM. Infor said it would "significantly extend the core Dynamics CRM functionality, adding industry-specific configurations and content for added value." Read more...

SAGE GETS A FRENCH CHIEF

Guy BerruyerGuy Berruyer, the new Sage Group chief executive, has taken over the job from long-time chairholder Paul Walker. That was effective on October 1, but you wouldn't know it because the only change to the company's Web page is that Frenchman Berruyer's picture and bio is in the place formerly occupied by Brit Walker. I would have marked the occasion with an announcement thanking Walker for his contributions and welcoming Berruyer on board.

MICROSOFT’S ELOP BET HOUSE … AND WON

Steve Elop, who jilted Microsoft to take a job as CEO of Nokia, did very well for himself in the two years he headed the Microsoft Business Division, the group that has oversight for Microsoft Business Solutions. He took in just under $21 million in total compensation, even if he did have to return $667,000 of his signing bonus because he didn't stay three years. He received the most compensation of any company officer in 2009 and 2010.

OPEN SYSTEMS HONORS RCG

Open Systems has named Response Computer Group as its top reseller for 2010 at the accounting software company's recent reseller conference in Las Vegas. RCG, whose owner and founder is Randy Ennis, sells  the vendor's Open Systems Accounting Software and Traverse applications. Open Systems has been very quiet.
