TWENTY-FOUR PASS DYNAMICS TESTS

Belinda Allen, Association of Dynamics ProfessionalsTwenty-four individuals passed the first-ever round of certification testing conducted by Dynamics Communities and the new Association of Dynamics Professionals. This is the first round in the effort to establish certification testing in the Dynamics market on a model similar to that used by the Project Management Institute for its Project Management Professional credential. Tests conducted at the reImagine conference in Fargo, N.D., in September, were for GP core financials, GP installation and configuration, and NAV core applications setup.

KIANOFF FOLDS INTO WARREN AVERETT

Lisa Kianoff, Kianoff & Associates Long-time Sage and Dynamics reseller Kianoff & Associates is merging into the Warren Averett Technology Group.  Founder Lisa Kianoff remains as president of her firm as a subsidiary of Warren Averett. Kianoff carries Dynamics GP, Sage 100/500 and Intacct. Both firms are based in Birmingham, Ala. Warren Averett has a family of companies, including Warren Averett CPAs, Asset Management, Turnaround Advisors; and Staffing Advisors.

ACUMATICA SIGNS SOUTHEAST

Ralph Ceccarelli, Southeast Computer SolutionsThere is one less Sage-only accounting software reseller. Miami, Fla.-based Southeast Computer Solutions, has added the Acumatica product line. Until this move Southeast carried the full Sage ERP line: Sage 100/300/500, X3 and SageCRM. It also offers Infor CRM, which had been SalesLogix until Sage sold that line. "Acumatica appears to be a very good fit for our clients—it is multi-language, multi-currency and is strong in distribution." says Southeast VP Ralph Ceccarelli.

MULLING THE FUTURE OF CONVERGENCE

SummitA number of trends suggest major problems for the future of Microsoft's long-running Convergence user conference. The fact 4,200 users attendance this week's Summit for Dynamics user groups in Reno, Nev., suggests users are voting with their feet after years of complaining about the decline in the value of Convergence sessions. That is up from 3,500 last year. Another is the potential ISV exhibitor revolt after last year Microsoft did a banner job in recruiting vendors for the show.

SAGE SALES VP KAMPEL LEAVES

Craig Kampel, Sage Craig Kampel has left his position as VP of sales and service of Sage MidMarket Solutions. Kampel took the job only a few months ago. Chief revenue officer Richard Spring said the company is looking for a replacement and thanked Kampel for his service. In the position, Kampel was responsible for managing Sage's MidMarket sales, training and professional services group for the United States.

AZAMBA'S WOLF FORMS QUANTACRM

Brian Dunn, QuantaCRMPeter Wolf, owner of the Azamba Consulting Group has formed QuantaCRM to sell Dynamics CRM. Wolf says Azamba, based in Chicago has been the largest reseller of SageCRM for the last two years. Wolf says he has 17 people with resources being shared by the companies. "I love the strong Microsoft CRM message and I believe Dynamics CRM is positioned well for the SMB space," Wolf says.

SAGE VET BERGERA GETS CEO JOB

Joe Bergera, IterisJoe Bergera, who held key positions with Sage's CRM operations for almost seven years, has taken the job of CEO of Iteris. Iteris, based in Santa Ana, Calif., markets what it describes as "information solutions for the transportation and agriculture markets." After leaving Sage North America in March 2011, Bergera had an eight month stint with CCH before moving on to Roper Industries.

SAGE READYING GLOBAL PARTNER PLAN

Rich Spring, Sage Sage this week introduced its new partner programs with presentations to its resellers. The company said it is creating a Global Partner Program for Sage One, Live, Impact and X3 and for all ISVs. And overall, the company said it is simplifying its offering by moving both accounting software and construction and real estate resellers to plans that span products, with all Sage revenue applying to tiers.

NETSUITE EXPANDS IN EUROPE

NetSuiteNetSuite has opened two new data centers in Europe, one in Dublin, Ireland, and the other in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The cloud software company said it had also selected Capgemini as its sole distributor in France. NetSuite said the two data centers will be completely powered by renewable energy and are expected to be operating by the end of the year. NetSuite said Capgemini would be its partner of choice in France.
