On the way from Newark to Cincinnati, I forgot to turn off my cell phone and the plane crashed and there were no survivors and—oh, it didn't do anything, did it? ... I saw a memory expert recently. He was able to perform incredible feats of memory such as being able to name all the owners of his bank over the last 20 years; the campaign promises of the last four presidential candidates; recite all the names of the GOP presidential candidates and understand all the language of a w-9 form ... In a tragic mis-scheduling of events, National Take Your Pet Hamster to Work Day coincided with National Take Your Pet Snake to Work Day. ... Ah it's fall and soon the leaves will be turning and the Canada geese will start their annual, well, annual not doing much differently.

Sage has extended an alliance with Microsoft via which the two will collaborate on product development on the Office 365 platform. This follows this year's agreement with Salesforce.com which enabled the company to get Sage Live to the market. The Sage announcement said, "Sage will deliver next-generation accounting and bookkeeping productivity tools built on best-in-class Microsoft cloud solutions." (Does Sage have bookkeeping software?) The press release is not that clear about the kind of products that will be developed and I've had no luck getting clarification or any statement that this is as much as we will get for the moment.

The surprising that about the announcement that Xero has built an integration with Avalara's sales tax rates and returns is that it has not happened before.
