XERO HAVING IMPACT IN BIG FIRMS?

Rod Drury, XeroOnline accounting software vendor Xero says it has a foothold in the Top 100 American accounting firms. In a slide in presentation about its results for the year ended March 31, the company said it that "Over 10 of top 100 accounting firms in process of moving clients to Xero." However, the company is not ready to name names. The only member of this group publicly identified so far is San Ramon, Calif.-based Armanino. Read more...

SAP ROLLS OUT CLOUD CONSULTING

SAP logoSAP has introduced cloud consulting services available for a broad range of its product line. The offerings include a cloud catalyst service, available internationally, with a live scoping for accelerated innovation service initially available in North America. Cloud catalyst service is a bundle of analysis and a selective migration road map “for using infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) for on-premise landscapes.”

BAD RESELLER VIBES ON SAGE SUMMIT

Sage SummitSummit, Sage’s annual conference, is bringing VAR comments that the event is not for them. To be held at the Gaylord National Harbor, Washington, D.C. Summit is a combination of reseller and user conferences. It starts on Sunday, July 21, with that day and Monday, July 22, reserved for the channel and then customers and channel able to attend through Friday (VARs via a three-day or six-day pass). SOLARWINDS BUYS N-ABLE FOR $120M

 N-Able TechnologiesSolarWinds has acquired Ottawa, Ontario-based N-Able Technologies for $120 million. N-Able, which makes managed service provider automation offerings, was a portfolio company of Accel-KKR. Accel-KKR also has a majority investment in Accellos and a minority stake in SwiftPage, which recently acquired Act and SalesLogix from Sage. SolarWinds said the payment was made from its cash balance.

ACCOUNTMATE PICKS UP PRO VARS

David Dierke, AccountMateSage's decision to sunset its Sage Pro accounting software has been a boon to AccountMate. The Sage decision, "was one of the best things to happen to AccountMate," says CEO David Dierke. VARs turned to AccountMate's source code product and also helped grow a channel that had shown only slight growth since the company spun out of Sage nine years to resume an independent existence.  Dierke listed nine Pro VARs that are now selling as part of the channel of his Petaluma, Calif.-based company.

NETSUITE TO BORROW $270 MILLION

NetSuite logoNetSuite plans to borrow $270 million in principal through the sale of convertible senior notes. There is also an additional $40 million authorized to cover over-allotments, according to this week's announcement of the debt offering. The announcement gives a typical laundry list of possible uses for proceeds, including working capital and other general purposes. But I get the feeling the item citing possible acquisitions in complementary businesses, products, services, technologies and capital expenditures” is going to get its share.

But the real winner is Dynamics AX, Among Dynamics AX-only VARs placing in three categories involving ERP is the Industry category winner mcaConnect and  finalist HSO International. That also applies to ERP winner, eBecs, and finalists Hitachi Solutions and Moscow-based GMCS (at least it seems like that when I screen out the Cyrillic script).

Lease options are available to cover 100 percent of software and maintenance contracts sold by the resellers of the Petaluma, Calif.-based accounting software publisher. BLACKBAUD: CRM TO GO DOWN-MARKET?

Anthony Boor. BlackbaudBlackbaud is mulling taking its high-end CRM offerings down-market. But since it has been talking about that for about two years, it's not clear how soon any such move would occur. At the recent J.P. Morgan Global Technology, Media and Telecom, CFO Anthony Boor., said, "CRM really brought us a new piece of the market and good growth." He continued, "The opportunity with CRM is to bring that down-market."

ADAPTIVE GETS $45M IN FUNDING

Adaptive PlanningAdaptive Planning, which makes Internet-based budgeting systems, has received $45 million in its latest round of venture capital funding. That comes after it raised $22 million in March 2012, and which seems like a pretty good take when the two are added together. The Mountain View, Calif.-based company made the announcement at its Accelerate 2013 user and channel conference in San Francisco and so far, that's the only news released from that event.
