SAGE FORMS TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY GROUP

Guy Berruyer, SageSage has formed a Technology Advisory Group that draws members from inside the highest levels of the company and from outside experts. The official statement from the Sage Group says the committee will meet four times a year and act as a sounding board for the company and provide independent thinking on technology issues. This includes keeping "keeping abreast of developments in the wider technology sector." Read more...

CORKERY NAMED DELTEK CEO

Mike Corkery, DeltekActing CEO Mike Corkery has moved into the top Deltek job permanently. Corkery, the company's CFO, took on the interim role in December following the departure of Kevin Parker. Parker left after private equity investment firm, Thoma Bravo, purchased the project accounting software company for $1.1 billion and took it private. Corkery joined the company in January 2010. From November 2007 to February 2010, Corkery served in the roles of acting CEO, EVP and CFO at ICO Global Communications.

ALFAPEOPLE GETS NEW CFO

Oliver Baur, AlfapeopleDynamics retail specialist Alfapeople has been getting a new look in its upper management levels in the last few months. In October,  Per G. Mikkelsen, the founder and former general manager of Alfapeople U.K., moved to Seattle to work as worldwide director of business development. Last month, the company promoted Oliver Baur, the head of its Swiss operations, to the position of chief financial officer and chief technology officer for the parent, Alfapeople Group. Read more...

EQUATION FOLDS INTO BAASS

Pat Wade, Equation TechnologiesEquation Technologies, based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, has merged into Baass Business Solutions. Both companies are historic Sage resellers and the Sage base in Canada has been consolidating over the last two years. Last year, Equation acquired the Sage practice of Balgord Software Solutions. Baass reported revenue of $10.5 million (Canadian) in its VAR Star form for 2012. Read more...

AVALARA BUYS TAX TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

Silvia Aguirre,  Tax Technology Services Sales tax vendor Avalara has acquired Tax Technology Services which makes cloud-hosted sales tax exemption certificate management systems. Founded in 2002 by owner Silvia Aguirre, TTS, based in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina, developed CertCapture, which acquires, maintains, and retains exemption and resale certificates, use tax certificates, W-9s, and excise tax documents.

SERENIC REVS DROP; LOSS GROWS

Serenic logoSerenic reported a sharp increase in its loss for the third quarter ended November 30 as revenue dropped by 8 percent. Those results came as the company noted important upcoming changes to its product line. On the financial side, the loss rose to $191,186 for the most recently ended quarter, up 84.6 percent from $103,595 a year ago. Revenue for the third quarter was $2.4 million, down from $2.62 million in last year’s corresponding period. All figures are in Canadian dollars.

NETSUITE BOOSTING CHANNEL SPEND

And CEO Zach Nelson took whacks at Microsoft and SAP and for the first time, DemandWare. So lets talk about the channel. SAP LETS CHANNEL INTO PARTNEREDGE

Sap logoSAP has expanded its PartnerEdge program to enable members of its channel resell, service and build applications on top of the SAP Cloud. SAP says it has simplified the process by replacing contracts for individual products with a single contract. The company is also bringing 500 members of the Success Factors channel into the program.

NETSUITE SIGNS SIKICH, ISM, WAC

Robert Distler, WAC ConsultingNetSuite picked up some serious resellers in its latest rounds of VAR signings this week. Among the new enlistees were Sikich, No. 13 on our Top 100 list,  and WAC Consulting, No. 54. Sikich, which carries a broad range of accounting software but is heavy on Dynamics, had $29 million in revenue for the last year. WAC, likewise carrying a multitude of ERP products, came in with $7.1 million.  Portland, Ore.-based ISM, which is supposed to merge with SWK Technologies, also had $7 million in its last year.
