SAP PUTS BIZ ONE ON HANA

SAPSAP has introduced a version of Business One of Hana, its in-memory database platform. The product is in what the company called restricted shipment, which for the moment means it is not available in the United States; that will come later in the year. ACUMATICA LOOKING TO ISVS IN 4.0

Christian Lindberg, AcumaticaCloud vendor Acumatica is seeking to develop relationships with software developers to expand the reach of version 4.0 of product. "We are still a young product. We still need deep industry and vertical capabilities," says Christian Lindberg, a Microsoft veteran who jumped to Acumatica last month as VP of Partner Solutions. It is Lindberg's job to set up the channel that can recruit and feed the ISV community. INFOR TO BUY CERTPOINT

Ara Ohanian, Certpoint SystemsInfor is acquiring Certpoint Systems, which makes SaaS-based learning management and learning content software. But can it buy happiness? The official announcement might be of less interest to the midmarket except for the title of Certpoint’s top executive and of the fact that Infor just keeps on buying other companies. Certpoint CEO Ara Ohanian is also chief happiness officer of the Roslyn, N.Y.-based company. Okay.

SAGE NORTH AMERICA GETS NEW CFO

Marc Scheipe, SageSage North America has hired Marc Scheipe as its new CFO. And that ends a period of three months in which the company has not had a permanent CFO. The job opened up after the former occupant of the job, Marc Loupe, became EVP of Sage CRM Solutions and Nonprofit Solutions, whose products are being sold by the company. Since then, Karen Mortham has been acting CFO. Scheipe was most recently CFO of global business functions at Ally Financial, where he served starting in February 2009.

EDGEWATER PLANS CHANNEL APP

That’s the working name for a product built on Dynamics CRM, AX and Sharepoint, “We are in the latter stages of a completing a module that will enable better tracking of channel partners and associated deal flows,” CEO Shirley Singleton said.

CONCUR RESTARTS VAR EFFORT

Bob Lewis, ConcurConcur, which markets travel-and-expense management applications, is rebooting its reseller program. The company has some legacy relationships, but really has not relied heavily on channel recruitment and sales. That is changing, according to Bob Lewis, the company’s senior director of business development. “VARs are now finding us,” says Lewis, who said the interest has been a bit surprising. However, he said Concur is getting approached by Microsoft and NetSuite VARs about adding the online offerings.

And I would have to assume that given the description of those things factoring into the award - bookings, margin, innovative approaches, marketing, customer loyalty and collaboration – that the level of sales of what is sold as NetSuite Budgeting has a lot to do with that.

NETSUITE TO KEEP HIRING SALES REPS

Ron Gill, NetSuiteNetSuite plans to keep on aggressively adding sales capacity in 2013, although hiring this year is aimed more at adding bodies than increasing quotas. There was a 60-percent increase in capacity in 2012, according to CFO Ron Gill in comments he made this week at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference. “Quota increase will not be as big a factor,” he told the audience. ACCUFUND READIES SAAS PRODUCT

AccuFundNonprofit vendor AccuFund is readying its AccuFund Anywhere cloud product for a launch sometime in March or April. The system is designed to have a great deal of familiarity for users, according to President Peter Stam. The Cloud product “uses all the same reports we use in the windows product.” The system will also use the SQL Anywhere database, also used in the desktop product.
