SOCIUS INKS DRIVING FORCE AS AFFIILIATE

Phil Gilbert, Driving Force SoftwareSocius has signed Driving Force Software, an Atlanta-based Dynamics GP reseller, as a sales affiliate. In business for more than 25 years,  DFS also provides network and hardware systems building and security services. QLIKTECH NAMES MARKETING HEAD

Terrie O’Hanlon, QlikTechQlikTech, which makes the QlikView analytical software line, has named Terrie O’Hanlon as chief marketing officer. For the last six years, O’Hanlon was SVP and CMO for Manhattan Associates, which makes supply chain applications. From 2004 through 2006, she was SVP of WebMD Practice Services, until its purchase by Sage. She served as EVP of marketing for CheckFree and was with that company from 1999 through 2004, until it was acquired by FiServ.

ACTIAN TO BUY PERVASIVE SOFTWARE

Pervasive Software logoPervasive Software has agreed to be acquired by an affiliate of the Actian Corp., for a deal valued at about $161.9 million. Pervasive, based in Austin, Texas, said it made the decision to accept the $9.20-a-share offer after studying its choices. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter.

INFOR: F9 CREATES QB REPORTS IN EXCEL

Infor logoInfor says its F9 software can now create QuickBooks reports inside Excel. The capability is provided via the use of Pervasive Software's data integration platform. That system enables F9 to dynamically access the Intuit product's general ledger data for use in fully formatted Excel reports.

NAVIGATOR TOP SAP CLOUD VAR

Grant Fraser, Navigator Business Solutions Navigator Business Solutions has been named SAP’s top cloud reseller based on 2012 sales. The Pleasant Grove, Utah-based VAR was officially given the SAP North America Partner Excellence Award 2013: Top Channel Partner - Cloud Solutions. Owner Grant Fraser said the company was successful with both sales of Business ByDesign and Business One OnDemand, which was introduced during the summer.

EPICOR ERP VP ROACH DEPARTS

Kevin Roach, Epicor SoftwareEpicor Software says that Kevin Roach, EVP and general manager of ERP in the Americas has left the company. CEO Pervez Qureshi has been handling Roach's duties since his departure on January 8. The departure was announced in an SEC filing after Roach left and the company did not issue the typical press release about Roach leaving to pursue other interests.

DYNAMICS REVS UP 12 PERCENT

Microsoft logoDynamics revenue for the second quarter ended December 31 was up 12 percent over last year's second quarter, Microsoft reported this week. That would mark an acceleration for sales by Microsoft, which reported that Dynamics sales were up 11 percent for the half. The company’s 10-Q for the quarter provided no other information about Dynamics.

AVALARA ISSUED STOCK IN MATRIX DEAL

Avalara logoAvalara has issued $425,355 in stock that was used in an asset purchase deal, according to a recent SEC filing. SEC filings on the issuance of stock in private companies are thin in detail. However,  CEO Scott McFarlane confirmed this was part of the consideration used in the recent purchase of the UPC Matrix Master database from Tax Matrix by Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based Avalara

SWK BUYS TEXAS SAGE BIZ

 Jeff Roth, SWK TechnologiesSWK Technologies of Livingston, N.J., has acquired the Sage accounts of Dallas-based Point Solutions. This is SWK’s first move into Texas and the company said it has retained “several key personnel.” We can expect more as in a prepared statement, SWK CEO Jeff Roth noted that “Our goal has always been to create a national footprint with regional offices for our Sage ERP practice; this was a logical next step to help us achieve that goal.” I believe SWK is not in the South or the Pacific Northwest, yet.

SUGARCRM NAMES FIELD OPS VP

Glenn Cross, SugarCRM SugarCRM has named Glen Cross as EVP of worldwide field operations. He will direct the source code software company’s sales, services and support organizations. Cross was most recently EVP of worldwide sales and services of Xsigo Systems. He was with that company for two years until its acquisition by Oracle. From 2009 through January 2011, he was SVP of worldwide sales, service and support Meru Networks, which went public in 2010.
