SAGE VAR CS3 PICKS UP INTACCT

CS3 Technology, a Sage reseller based in Tulsa, Okla., has signed on to the Intacct bandwagon. CS3, once known as Crouch Slavin, is the latest Sage VAR shopping for a new product line. And the reports continue to come in that the Sage channel members are looking for secondary products because of the uncertainty about Sage's cloud product line development. CS3 carries ERP and HR products but has been stronger on the HR side.

Sage's chief executive Guy Berruyer is following through on his promise to get back into the M&A business. The Sage Group has acquired a controlling interest in Brazils Folhamatic Group for just under $200 million for 75 percent of the company's equity.

Previous newsletter items have talked about Sage VARs having wandering eyes for other vendors. I don't think I'm beating a dead software package because what has become clear over the last two weeks is that the channel is distressed by what it sees the company doing, including competing with direct sales and according to some, denying that.

Life is what happens between airplane delays. .... Speaking of delays, I think airline personnel are getting a bit cynical. I asked one worker why my flight was being delayed - weather, security or mechanical problems - one representative replied "What would you like to hear?"

Cougar Mountain Software is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. And this is probably one of the best ways to measure just how long on-premise accounting software has been around. The company was started in 1982 in Boise, Idaho, by Robert Gossett.

Infor has acquired Easy RMS, which markets multitenant SaaS revenue management software for the hospitality industry. Based in London, Easy RMS reportedly has more than 1,200 customers which provides revenue management functionality that lets hotels optimize room pricing.
