SWITCH TO SUBS HITTING BLACKBAUD NET

And combined with a slower giving and a protracted period for government approval of its Convio acquisition, things piled up a bit on the Charleston, S.C.-based nonprofit specialist. The company lost $2.3 million in the quarter ended June 30, compared to net income of $9.4 million a year earlier.

Avectra logoAvectra, which makes web-based social CRM, has signed Professional Advantage, a reseller that has operations in Australia and the United States. The VAR will sell Avectra's constituent relationship management system in Australia. It was the third reseller signing announced by McLean, Va.-based Avectra in the last month.

VAR GOES HEAD ON WITH SAGE IN U.K.

Mhance logoM-hance, created via a consolidation of several British VARs, has launched its entry into the online accounting competition for SMEs in Sage's backyard. The new product, Financials to Go, is described as a hosted cloud solution that can be deployed in five days or less. Designed with Word and Outlook Templates, FTG has been built for "SMEs or for those wishing to leave their current accounting solution provider (Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite etc)", a press release states.

QLIK TECHNOLOGIES NARROWS LOSS

qlikview logoQlik Technologies, which markets the QlikView business intelligence line, reported a loss of $2 million for the second quarter ended June 30, down from $2.7 million in last year's corresponding quarter. Second quarter revenue was $85.5 million, up 16 percent over last year and up 24 percent in constant currencies.

FISHBOWL GOES PARTLY TO THE CLOUD

The company is offering a free one-year Pipeline subscription to new customers who purchase Fishbowl Inventory this month.

EDGEWATER'S AX REVS DROP

Shirley Singleton, Edgewater TechnologyA drop in Dynamics AX revenue contributed to a 23.4-percent decline in software and maintenance income at Edgewater Technology for the second quarter ended June 30. Revenue in that category fell to $3.6 million in the most recently ended quarter, down from $4.7 million a year ago. Read more...
