In recent years, Microsoft's Inner Circle has not been a home for the small fry. But usually, there has been at least one ERP VAR with $5 million to $10 million in revenue to make it. Not this year. From a self-serving measurement, seven of the top 10 of Bob Scott's Top 100 VARs made the list just announced at the Worldwide Partner Conference.

Blytheco has named Lori Seal, a 10-year Sage veteran, as COO. Seal was most recently VP of ecommerce solutions for Junctions Solutions, a Dynamics AX reseller, from March 2012 through June this year. But from 1998 through 2008, she held a variety of positions with Sage North America.

New York-based Net@Work, a Sage reseller, has moved into the Canadian market with the purchase of Synergy Plus Solutions. Synergy president Joe Santoro will serve as Net@Work's Sage 300 ERP practice director with his team remaining at his company's headquarters in Windsor, Ontario.

Microsoft has announced several agreements with software companies that are utilizing Dynamics applications as the engine of their financial applications. This is an initiative that has been underway for several years in which Microsoft argues that vendors can concentrate on providing their own vertical expertise instead of having to spend time developing the basic accounting product.

Nonprofit vendor Serenic swung from profit to loss as revenue for the year ended February 29 dropped by 9.2 percent. The company said it had fewer deals for the year and that a large deal in Africa did not close because in the country in which it occurred “the country’s currency controls prevented the sale from being closed prior to the fiscal year end.”

SWK INTROING HIGHTOWER ENHANCEMENTS

SWK Technologies has begun returning Hightower enhancements to the market. Livingston, N.J.-based SWK picked up the enhancements for the Sage 100 line when it acquired the assets of the former Hightower, the Chicago-area VAR that closed in the early Spring. A letter from SWK president Jeff Roth to the Sage channel said his company would test releases of the Hightower enhancements.

Interdyn Business MicroVAR has folded in the operations of Little Rock, Ark.-based Reach Solutions. The deal was accomplished as a merger, but Interdyn BMI, based in Minneapolis, Minn., had $12.1 million in revenue for 2011 while Reach-Solutions had $1.7 million for the last report I had so we know which name survives.
