MICROSOFT COMP CHANGE IMPACTS COLUMBUS

ColumbusMicrosoft's new sales model cut into revenue for Dynamics reseller, Columbus, for the third quarter ended September 30. But the Copenhagen, Denmark-based company posted a 59-percent growth in EBITDA for the most recently ended period. EBITDA hit about $1.2 million in the period just ended. First-quarter revenue of about $32.9  million was about six-tenths of a percent higher than in last year's corresponding period.

NET@WORK HIRES SALES DIRECTOR

Anne Brennan, Net@WorkNew York Sage reseller Net@Work has hired Anne Brennan as director of sales for business applications. She was previously VP of business development for RKL eSolutions, joining that organization after it purchased her company Waterview Information in October 2010. Brennan will team with Seth Ellertson, director of client care and installed base sales, and also with Tom Miller, who leads Net@Work's Partner Development Practice.

SAP: SOUTH AMERICAN CHANNEL, A MODEL

Kevin Gilroy, SAPSAP says it wants to use its channel program in South America as a model for what it could be doing in North America. That would fit my view over the last two years that the channel in the United States got bogged down in the mud after a promising start. "We are trying to leverage some best practices," says John Graham, head of ecosystems and channels for SAP Americas.

Kirill Tatarinov, MicrosoftHyped is a fair word for the worldwide event Microsoft held yesterday, a major gathering of dogs and ponies. Broadcast from Barcelona, Spain, the webcast had high production values as Convergence 2013 EMEA kicked off this week. When Dynamics GM Fred Studer said it was as close as he would get to the Oscars, I wondered if he saw a lot of breast implants and facelifts.

ABILA SELECT PRESIDENT'S CIRCLE

AbilaAbila has moved quickly to set up an awards program and hold its first conference. Formed after Accel-KKR purchase Sage Nonprofit Solutions in February, Abila is holding the event, Forward Together 2013, this week at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Lost Pines, Texas. It also released the names of four resellers in its first-ever President's Circle. Those members are McGovern Consulting Group, NonProfit Technologies, JMT Consulting Group and NP Solutions.

XERO CASH TOPS $165 MILLION

xeroXero raised $150 million in equity investment last month. And with the proceeds from that fund-raising effort in hand, the company's cash topped roughly $165 million the New Zealand-based company said in a quarterly report required under the requirements for the listing of its securities on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Ken Lorenz, TicomixSugarCRM has had its share of executive and manager turnover this year. Part came during a declared reorganization in February. But it has not stopped. Ken Lorenz, who was enterprise sales director from July 2012 through September, to become regional sales director at Ticomix. Dawn Jaeger, director of channel development, moved to Acumatica in June to become director of partner recruiting.

SAGE BROADENS ACCOUNTANT EFFORT

Jennifer Warawa, SageSage North America has created a new unit, Sage Accountants Solutions, to accelerate its efforts with accounting professionals. The company named Jennifer Warawa, who has headed the Sage Accountants Network, as VP and general manager of the new organization. Warawa says that SAN has been more about efforts across the Sage product portfolio. The new effort aims a broader involvement between Sage and accounting professionals.

SUGARCRM PICKS MARKETING VP

Jennifer Stagnaro, SugarCRMSugarCRM has hired Jennifer Stagnaro as its SVP of marketing. In the new job, Stagnaro leads branding and marketing initiatives. She was previously VP of global marketing for Immersion. Before that, she was VP of marketing for Audience. She was also executive director for the Meth Project, which was aimed at reducing methadone use among youth. Sugar's previous marketing leaders included Lorna Heynike, who was SVP of marketing until she became the open source software company's group VP of product strategy in April 2012.
