SAGE SAYS X3 BOOMS

Sage X3Sage says that it has grown the customer base for its X3 software by more than 10 percent since the launch of X3 V6 just over a year ago.  About 300 new customers have been added in that time to bring the total global count to more than 3,000.

VENDORS SPEND INTO RECOVERY

Ross Systems, which is owned by CDC Software, has introduced Ross in the Cloud, a SaaS version of its Ross ERP suite. This application is hosted by Ross and is available on a monthly subscription price based on number of users, application configuration and service term. Read more...

SYSPRO SPONSORS GUIDE

Syspro has hired consulting firm, iPlan Industrial Engineers, to write a guide that helps executive decision makers set strategy for selecting, implementing and operating ERP systems. Syspro said the process is based around iPlan’s “Degrees of Freedom” framework with the book providing different strategies for “1) the system aspect, 2) the business processes aspect and 3) the people organization aspect in achieving the business objective.”

EXACT MAKES SOME PROGRESS

With the new CEO, Martijn Janmaat, making comments about changes that represent a continued reflection on the job performance of his predecessor Raj Patel (my view), Exact reported improvement in its financial condition. While revenue dropped by 1.9 percent for the year ended December, it grew in the second half with growth accelerating in the fourth quarter.

SAP has joined the Wholesale Application Community, a group that aims to create a unified and open platform for the market of mobile applications.  With SAP preaching the gospel of openness this year, it’s hardly surprising. QB USERS MOVING ONLINE

Sales of desktop units of Intuit’s QuickBooks accounting software continued to drop as subscriptions of QuickBooks Online increased sharply for the second quarter ended January 31. Intuit sold 404,000 units, down from 431,000 a year earlier and 529,000 units two years ago. Read more...

Control and use of mobile devices is the No. 1 issued selected for this year’s Top Technology Initiatives by the American Institute of CPAs. This is the second year of a new format, once called the Top Ten Technologies, and it’s a vast improvement over last year’s effort. OmniVue, a Dynamics reseller based in Alpharetta, Ga., appears to be ratcheting up its operations. In the last two months, it has hired Sonny Goodwin as senior development manager for what was described as an expanded business development team. QURIUS ALIGNS WITH PRODWARE

Two European companies that look like they are in a mating dance, France-based Prodware, a software vendor, and Qurius, a Dynamics VAR based in the Netherlands have entered into a an alliance. Prodware is getting 11 million new shares in Qurius, which represents about 10 percent of Qurius’s capital.
