FISHBOWL ADDS MOBILE WAREHOUSE MODULE

Fishbowl has added mobile warehouse inventory software for use with Fishbowl Inventory 2010, which was recently introduced. Fishbowl Mobile can process, transfer and receive warehouse inventory in real time. Also integrating with QuickBooks, the software can be installed on an unlimited number of scanners within the warehouse.

BLACKBAUD MOVING TO COMMON DATABASE

Blackbaud’s next generation of products, generation eight, turns from offering a variety of separate applications for each market in favor of a single application that provides a variety of functions from the same database. CEO Marc Chardon told attendees at this week’s Thomas Wiesel Technology & Telecom Conference that Generation 8 is built on Microsoft .Net 3.5, moving away from the client-server architecture. It would probably startle some that SAP co-founder Hasso Plattner plans to devote his speech at Sapphire, the company’s major user conference, to Apple’s iPod. INTERDYN CFO FILLS SALES/SERVICE JOB

InterDyn CFO Consulting, which resellers Dynamics GP, NAV and CRM, has created the position of general manager of sales and professional services. The Orlando, Fla.-based VAR filled the spot with Jeff Petersen, whose duties will be to direct new business development and professional services. SWK HIRES EXECS

Sage reseller SWK Technologies has raided the offices of another reseller in hiring two new executives. The Livingston, N.J.-based organization has named Andrew Nunez as COO and EVP Sales and Paul Frydman as EVP-Consulting. The two had worked at the Secaucus, N.J., office of Nextec, a reseller that handles Dynamics and Sage's MAS 500 and X3 lines. SWK handles Sage's MAS 90/200/500, BusinessWorks, FAS, Act, SageCRM and SalesLogix products, along with Intuit's QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. Read more...

BLACKBAUD ENDS 2009 WITH NET UP

Blackbaud ended its year on December 31 reporting a 17.9 percent rise in net income on a 4.7 percent decline in revenue for the fourth quarter. Net income rose to just under $8 million in the most recently ended quarter, compared to $6.5 million a year earlier. Fourth-quarter revenue was just under $79 million, down from $80.5 million. PRONTO ALLIES WITH AVALARA

Pronto Software, an Australian developer pushing into the United States, has entered an Alliance Partnership agreement with Avalara, which is based in Bainbridge Island, Wash. The deal with the sales-and-use tax company enables Pronto customers world-wide to manage tax calculation, compliance and exemption certificate management via an integration with the software company’s Web-based AvaTax.
